Hi Guys,
Quick query. My van recetnly failed it MOT due to an incomplete rear off side spring. A mate of mine managed to get the old spring off and fit a nice new one- all good.
Took van for short spin last night after completing the job and theres a king of knocking whenever the van hits a bump or corners. Its a new spring, so am thinking it may just need bit of time to settle in, although Im concerned it may fail MOT again if I put it back through.
Has any one replaced a rear spring themselves and had same problem?
cheer
Justin

It locates in a spiral groove at the tope normally, and also correctly onto the radius arm plate. Was the shock absorber finally nipped up with weight on the suspension or when hanging loose? Need to be about 75 ft-lbf or more I think, but get full weight on spring before tightening.
Def could be shocker knocking as said above
