Hi,
I have rust at the bottom of the sliding door and a little on the inner panel.
I think I can weld the outer panel with the door still on but this may be difficult to do the inside.
Im a bit worries taking the door of as ive never tackled it before and wilkl it line up again afterwards etc.
Any advice on if this is an easy job, or should I just weld it on the Van

Re: welding sliding door
I think you should take it off, if you can weld then you have the skills refit the slider for sure.
Just make sure you mark the position of the lower runner with a pen or scriber and properly support the door from below when removing.

Re: welding sliding door
I have repaired the bottom of my door with the repair panels.
Taking the door off will make the job SO MUCH MORE easier to work with its a no brainer.
It meant I could lay it down, cut the rotten inside piece off first with a little bit of overlap to attach it too. It then meant lining up the outer repair panel was a lot easier to tackle. You can then fill, sand , paint etc and make sure its all pretty before hanging the door back on.
