awning attachment

hi whats the best way to attach the awning to a high top (trident auto sleeper) van,figure 8 is to tight a fit as the gutter has a rubber trim on it .do I have to remove the rubber trim? any help very welcome kcon

If its just the standard black plastic trim on the gutter, i removed a tiny bit from the back - about 1cm - and the figure 8 now easily slides on from the back. I just leave it on, and slide my awning or sun canopy in to it...only hassle is if i want to "drive away", but we tend to use a tent rather than our awning and just the sun canopy on the figure 8

I plan to use this method on mine when it's done as I no longer have the high-top

hi I am gunna try the remove 10mm of the black trim method 1st and see how I get on . thanks for all the help
