Torque Settings

Does anyone know the torque setting for a cu 2l Aircooled head. Also valve gaps and a diagram on how all the brackets and timware fit cheers Nick

(1) 22lb ft (according to Haynes)

(2) They should be hydraulic, so self-adjusting. Check the Wiki/this forum for how to set them up, if they've been tinkered with. Also, you could read this:

1. Torque the first head in the correct sequence to 15 ft-lb then the second to the same.

2. Retorque the first head in the correct sequence to 23 ft-lb then the second to the same.

3. After 10 mins repeat step 2
