Clutch operating arm

Post by CovKid »

Not changed an operating arm since my Beetle days but I know mine (1.9dg) has flat areas on it which can cause the clutch to snatch more quickly than it should. As I want to remove gearbox to do some other jobs, I thought I'd replace this. I gather the T2 75-79 ones are the same?

Good luck getting the lever off it's anything like the syncro ones... and old too. Need a good puller methinks. Oh! Of course you could stone the curves back on in situ

Yep, that was the other option I had in mind, building up any missing metal (its not much) with weld then grinding carefully to shape and required dimensions. Might be easier to be honest.

If memory serves me right, the spring and circlips are resistant to removal. :rofl
