hand brake light

Post by jeffdub »

hi all, I managed to get back from hols with dodgy front wheel bearings and now I've got another problem ! my handbrake light is constantly on , ive read the wiki, checked fluid levels and they're ok , played around with the switch on the handbrake and even disconnected the wire but it's still on ! I have noticed that the light dulls slightly when I take the handbrake off could this be an earth problem ? thanks jeff

Have you checked your brake fluid? On many vehicles this is also the low fluid warning light.

Oops, soz. Just reread 1st post and you already said you checked fluid level. Duh!
Seen this a couple of times, light stay on, pulled plug off back of light unit (the little pcb) and plugged back in - all returned to normal inexplicably. Hope yours does too!
