Free Lunch & Fitting windows

Post by bagpuss1997 »

Hi my 1983 camper has got only one window in it she has just had a full restoration and now I am putting her back together however it took me and a friend 4hrs to put one window in the rear passenger side. We watched the video on campervan culture made it look easy stringing the windscreen in. was wondering if any kind person is available on Tuesday to help me out. please as really want to go to vw festival leeds
Beer or coffee available to the person who helps might even provide lunch.

A tool of the trade I found out when I was stringing my front window in , is the plastic nosal on the tubes of decorators caulk or the like.
Get a clean one and cut it at an angle like you do when caulking and so you can get your rope through, and then pull a few inches through the cut end and then put the pointy bit of the cut into the channel of the rubber and feed the string around.
It makes stringing up a lot easier if you ger what I mean?
Cheers dazz
