Hi all

Post by Superwhite »

Hi all, am new, purchased yesterday from my neighbour a g reg 1990 vw t25 autohomes komet for a tidy sum of 1200 with an engine that needs new rings due to blowing oil from oil cap and dipstick, have a few questions as plan to do some bits while i rebore and rebuild engine before i go touring :)

How can the fridge be hidden I don't mind the dated style of the interior but the fridge is an eye saw for me, can it be hidden ? What are the options?

Also interested to see anyone with underfloor heating?

And what size tv you have in your t25?

Thanks in advance for looking and any advice or information :ok

Hello and welcome :ok

Have a really good read on here and especially the wiki section located top left... hours and hours of great info that will save you countless days of swearing, blood, sweat and tears !

Have a read here https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=120790" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

very interesting thread about re building a wasserboxer.

I have never done one ( done others ) From what I have seen its not possible to rebore as the engine utilises sleeves inside the water jacket , but it is quite probable that its the rings worn not the bore... Also worth checking the oil condensation stack on top of the engine... these can become blocked and cause back pressure and the symptoms that you describe, people have reported that cleaning them doesnt really work and a replacement is the best option the part to the right of 9 and 10 , looks like a tower.... http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_parts_Oil- ... try_GB.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

post up some picks of the van so we can all have a look, we love pics 8)

Hi engine is the 1.7d have cleaned the breather in the rocker cover thoroughly in my parts cleaner oil travels up both the dipstick and filler tube engine is on 108k so I reckon a full rebuild is due has had a new head by previous owner as I know because I or my father have been mechanically maintaining the van for past 15 years so tempted to use different engines 19 td

Cow print sounds groovy but I'd rather hide the fridge behind a door

Will upload some pictures do you use the garage as like a build thread ?
