Where can I have custom cables made up for a reasonable cost

Post by lowlifedubz »

Does anyone know a reputable company that will make me a custom cable for my van; I need a throttle cable that is about a foot longer than standard so its a very simple cable. Everywhere seems to be extortionately priced and the turnaround is not very quick. Anyone know of a company that could do it for me, reasonably priced and quite quickly???

You can easily do it yourself. Most bicycle and motorbike shops stock it on a roll. It's called Bowden Cable. You can either buy solderless ends to suit, or solder "proper" ones on. The shop that sells the cable will / should supply those "ends" or you can unsolder your old ones. I bet you can get these items on Ebay as well. I have done just this when mine broke last year and I needed a very quick fix. Works just fine :)

RJES does a modualr accerator cable for the scoobie conversions that can be made to do pretty much anything, Richard is brilliant at that sort of stuff and his cables are better than the original set up
