Cold start/idling problem

Post by bigrich »

Hi all, I have recently bought myself a 1987 caravelle with a 2.1 DJ injection engine which when starting from cold doesn't want to idle and when it does is a bit lumpy. As a complete newbie to these modern type vehicles (driven a 1600 bay panel daily for the last 7 years) what could the issue be? if its a sensor thing, idiot proof directions of where to find such things would be greatly appreciated. It runs and idles fine after about ten minutes but really wants to cut out when cold unless i feather the throttle.

thanks
