Running hot.

Post by juansetos »

I Have a VW Type 25 Caravelle 1.6 turbo diesel which is running hot and have to drive with the heater on and fan running in order to keep the temperature within bounds although as soon as I slow in traffic the radiator fan cuts in and out until I am able to speed up. The cooling system has the extra water pump in the engine compartment and an additional pump in line on the return from the radiator. What can I do to bring the temperature down to normal operating level? I have had six camper vans in the past four of which were diesel but this is the first turbo.

Running hot.

I have a VW Type 25 Caravelle turbo diesel which despite having an extra water pump in the engine compartment and one in line from the radiator the vehicle is still running hot and I have to put the heater and its fan on to hold the temperature within limits. Any ideas? Posted this last week but it disappeared.
