SAAB LEATHER SEATS ?
hi people anyone know or have fitted saab leather seats to their t 25 ? is it an easy job or a lo of messing about, i was thinking of re upholstering my existing seats but i`m getting silly quotes for the job and saab seats seem plentiful and cheap.

They won't mount straight in,if you do a search there have been plenty of threads on the subject also in the wiki.

Re: SAAB LEATHER SEATS ?
Fitment depends on how practical you are and what tools you have available. I favour the approach that does not involve drilling holes in the van or grinding off the existing runners.
I had them for 3 years. Found them far too high and always worried about what would happen to my legs in a shunt as the steering wheel was close to my thighs. Removed them and bought some cheap captains seats, which I could fit in seconds as I hadn't butchered my van to fit the saab seats.
Captains seats are just as comfy and a far better driving postion. I wouldn't recommend saab seats, comfy seats but not a comfy driving position. I am 5' 10"

Re: SAAB LEATHER SEATS ?
I've fitted them in jambo but ended up cutting most of the Saab base off then made a new frame incorporating the runners off the knackered old seats, very comfy , plenty of room . I'm 6' and big
There's a bit about me fitting them here

Re: SAAB LEATHER SEATS ?
I just fitted them to my van.
Old seats were drilled through the floor on top of the original runners. No idea what they were, but the old runners were ruined.
Saab runners are slightly wider than the original runners, so have spacers underneath them on the outside edges.
Just drilled through and put some washers with the spacers both sides using some bolts and self locking nuts.
I'd like to have rotating bases on both so would in the future grind off the original runners and weld stuff in, but to be honest....can't be bothered right now. Plus this seemed the easier option with stuff I had in my garage.
I've got plenty of room for my legs to go under the wheel.

Re: SAAB LEATHER SEATS ?
Original seat was killing my back so fitted Saab leather seat with adjustable lumbar support---left original passenger captain seat as is.
Saab seat is slightly tricky to fit well as previous comment said---its wider. Made up 2 thick metal strips to marry electric runners to seat box.
Original seat could easily be refitted. Took opportunity to reuse original runners under captains pass. seat to make up under seat safe---its enough space for a lap top.Saab seat is higher but you can tilt it slightly---ok for leg length 32" or more---I am 5 foot nine and find it very comfortable for all day driving. Sun visor now slightly low.

Re: SAAB LEATHER SEATS ?
I found the raised seat position akin to driving a coach or an arctic. All I needed was a handle on the wheel
Standard seat height not makes it more car like and no more need to extend my legs fully for clutch changes
