Drivers seat moving slightly

Post by bigrich »

hi all, under hard braking/cornering my drivers seat (1987 caravelle with captains chair) moves slightly on the left hand side. i whipped it out (the seat) tonight to have a looksee just in case the bolts on the seat had worked loose but they hadn't, then on closer inspection of the runners the RHS runner seemed to have some sort of plastic bush on it but the LHS did not, is this correct? if not where can i can get another bush from

That's an anti rattle shim 251-881-213 only one fitted per side.

What you experienced was normal as the seat has a bit of play in it within the runner otherwise you wouldn't be able to slide it back when sat on it.

You can fit a shim on the other side. I have two on each of mine purely because the seats still rattled with one and I hate rattles.

They are about £3 from volkswagen commercial dealers according to my ETOS program
