Sliding door coming off roller bearing

Post by joyful »

Just bought camper last weekend and the sliding door fell off today.

Picture of the offending vertical roller which has come out of the guide. From what I can see, it seems to have been modified with a penny washer for the outside and this is too small diameter and so the bearing jumps out.

Online I have seen bearings at Brickwerks but they seem to he upto 1985 and aftter 1985 and not sure which one and whethwer it will still fit.

http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/s ... tical.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe just get a larger penny washer?

Any help much appreciated.

T25 is 1986 'C' Reg

Pixs of the bearing attached

Is that the one that goes on the sliding door track? If so it should be a roller with a bearing inside not just a bearing. they have them on JKs but are about £25

I was wondering what goes on the outside of the bearing (see my pix).

I presume the large washer stays on the inside, then the new roller bearing. What should be on the outer as the washer on the unit now is smaller and not the correct diameter on the spindle.

P.S Looking at the Haynes manual, the drawing shows just the bearing, no inner or outer washers at all ?

there is NO WASHER. :lol:your is a bodge.. the weight of the door keeps the roller on the guide and the 2 horizontal rollers locate the door within the channel and thats that

Yes, thank you for the quck reply. Most helpfuil. It is a bodge, plenty of those as I am finding. Like when you turn on the headlights at night the instrument panel lights go off, vice versa. Very strange.
