Oil leak under engine

Post by gog »

Hi,

I have a T25 with a 1.9 Diesel (1Y) engine fitted.

The engine has developed an oil leak, some where around the front of the engine (between engine and gear box) at the flywheel.

I have included a picture, can anyone tell me what is the likely cause of this oil leak, or what seal etc would need to be replaced ?

Regards,

Colm

looks more g box than crank end seal to me and.................that g box drain nut dont look like its been touched in half a life time, make sure you can undo the filler and check the level before looking at this.
a bit of oil is not a great issue but points the way to a problem developing, either way its a un it out to do

Thanks for the reply, the gearbox oil level check has been on my list since I bought the van earlier in the year but I better give it some priority now.

If I can undo the filler and drain plugs I will change the gearbox oil and see how it goes, maybe the newer thicker oil will sort out this small leak ??
