AAZ loss of drive in 4th and 5th

Post by BigBirtha »

Hi,
I had an aaz fitted 6month ago and have had to change the turbo recently. Since it was done when I put my foot down in 4th or 5th the engine revs but not all the power is being transferred to the wheels. Im guessing this is due to the clutch slipping but my mechanical knowledge is limited. Any ideas???

I didn't do it my self but I think he used the one that was still bolted to the new engine. It came out of a Passat. The old engine was a 1.6 cs

can't have used the whole passat clutch as it doesn't match the gearbox input shaft , he could have used the passat pressure plate and the old friction plate from your original engine, that's possibly the problem, especially if friction plate 215mm and pressure plate and flywheel are 228mm
question is which flywheel was fitted and which bits of which clutch and how good were they I think, back to the installer I think
