screaming fridge

Post by cleagarr »

So, I'm in France and it is hot and my Westy fridge is screaming at me. It stopped about 10 minutes arter I turned it off. Any ideas for a solution?
Thanks

Sounds like a noisy cooling fan. If it is very hot the fan will kick in to do its job. It sounds as if the fan is touching something. On the positive side it is doing its job. When the temperature drops down at night (if it does) the fan should stop. Switch the fridge back on again and see what happens.

My fridge fan used to make a hell of a racket, I could hear it 20 metres away from the van
But fear not! the computer fan mod works really well

Thanks for the responses chaps. Two weeks in and two to go and finally some wifi! Really appreciate the comments - Martin that is ingenious.

My response was to liberally spray the back with WD40 and the screaming stopped. )

This trip has also thrown up other issues/tweaks so look out with anticipation for my next phase of questions in late August!

Thanks again everyone :ok
