LPG leisure tank refurb?

I was wondering if anybody knows a place that refurbs lpg tanks mine is pretty grotty especially along the welds where the plate with all the valves and the gauge are located. I'm not in a rush I was thinking of taking it off and getting it done over the winter

I did mine myself.
Stripped it down.
Masked off the threads and brass items.
Got it sand blasted.
Took it around to the local paint shop and they put a few coats of 2k black.
Rebuilt and refilled - jobs a good un!

Ok cheers I was thinking of doing it that way but was wondering if they needed to periodically tested for safety?

They have a 10 year TüV certificate - it should be stamped on the outside somewhere.
It costs about 400 € to have it recertified.
I didn't bother, when it comes to TüV time I will remove it.

In Germany, yes - see Titus' reply.
In the UK, no.

Ok sounds like a winter project
One more daft question,
At the moment the tank is pretty full and I can't imagine that I will use it all so how does one go about getting it emptied so it can be blasted?
