My Odometer is broken, as far as i can tell by some research on the net this is not illegal. Only illegal to sell it without declaring it.
I am in two minds wether to bother replacing as they seem expensive. The van is says 54,000 miles on the clock so I'm guessing it been round at least once so millage no longer seems that relevant. Either that or I've got a very low millage van?
Just wanted to know what the experts on here thought i should do?

+1 for fixing it! Mine has read the same mileage on the last few mot's so hasn't worked for a while! She's had a new engine now, so wanted to get it working. I'm not very confident about taking things to bits, but gave it a go and it now works - worth a go

Re: Broken Odomiter
Simple check to see what it may be
Get to the back of the unit and wind it by hand, to check if odometer is broken or not.
If broken, decide what you want to do.
If not broken, not too bad a job either fixing the end of the cable or replacing the cable.
(If new engine and you want to set the mileage to zero, a cordless drill can come in handy).

Re: Broken Odomiter
I had thought of that, got unlimited millage on the insurance as im already insured on two other motors. I think i will get it fixed now as the Van has got to go into the garage for engine work and new breaks.
