A Syncro you probably never knew about.

Post by Simon Baxter »

As I know I didn't.
W12 engine, one of only 3 ever made and currently residing at the ZeitHaus at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg.

Not long been back from a few days in Wolfsburg, ace time and managed to indulge in some good old Volkswagen geekery.
Factory tour, automuseum, Autostadt, a tour of the Grundmanns private collection as well as seeing VW's first 4wd vehicle the schwimmwagen paddling in the Allersee at the 75 years of Wolfsburg celebrations.

Wasn't this W12 also known as the "AVUS" concept? I think one of the kids has a Hot Wheels toy of it, might even be the same colour.

My mistake. The Audi Avus was much earlier - 1991 - but more of a styling exercise with a wooden fake engine

According to Wiki-lies, so it could all be wrong.
