wobbly dizzy cap ?

Post by jeffdub »

I serviced my van yesterday and replaced plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm , when I replaced the rotor arm I noticed mine was one of the limited ones but after a search on here I found that you can replace it with a standard one , I fitted it , fired the van up and it's ticking over nicely but I noticed the dizzy cap is wobbling about , something I never noticed before is this normal ? the clips that secure it are tight thanks jeff

You probably haven't pushed the rotor fully down or it's the wrong one and it is rubbing on the centre contact in the distributor cap.

ive just double checked what I ordered from brickwerks and I got the right rotor arm for the dizzy cap , but that's what seems to be happening herb as I noticed powdery dust inside the cap when I took the new cap off and refitted it i'll check if the rotor is properly seated, thanks for the advice :ok
