Battery location

Post by Ian and Lins »

Has any one put a petrol engined battery in the engine compartment? I was thinking this would give us a bit more storage space under the drivers seat.
Are we going on anything else?

You'll need to upgrade cable to dash if you do. Theres enough of a voltage drop to headlamps even as stock. Can be done but the relatively small gain in space plus less access to battery may not make it a worthwhile or even economic proposition. Considered this myself (a few times) but its nice to be able to get to either battery, out of the rain. should the need arise?
