Just about to buy a leisure battery for my recent completed interior. When I ripped out the old interior I kept all the old electrics as there was nothing wrong with the wiring for the lights fridge etc. Also have a 240v hook up, fusebox and 240/12v convertor. Not quite sure about the wiring, how it all works.
Do I need an:
- An autoelectrician
- Will a domestic electrician do
- will I be able to do this myself?
Couple of other questions:
How do I know if the leisure and main battery have a split charger, what do I look for?
On an Electrolux RM 223 3 way fridge how do I know if they fridge is using the leisure battery or the 240v hook up, there doesn't seem to be a switch to move between the two, or even an Off/On switch? Gas is disconnected.
Thanks

Re: Leisure Battery and Electrics
I can't find an RM 223 fridge on the net - you sure that's the model number? Can you post a picture of it's control fascia?
You don't sound like you could do this yourself. Your best bet is an domestic electrician who is prepared to research the split charge / fridge side of the electrics; he may have to research camper mains electrics too since it's not something you come across often as an everyday sparkie. He may insist that you change your existing consumer unit to one with double pole breakers to conform with the latest regs. Or take it to a caravan/campervan/motorhome conversion company.

Re: Leisure Battery and Electrics
Well I've found places selling it but no operating instructions or manual so I can't help, sorry. Does the flap like piece to the right hand side of the gas control flip down by any chance?
