I know where there's one in the IoM.

If you're careful you can do it with the edge of a large flat blade screwdriver.

Should be checked and adjusted every main service...SADLY not done or even checked by most garages because they don't posses the correct tools and shims. (criminal really as this adjustment is a critical part of routine servicing)

I've got all the kit mate, from my years working at a main dealership and whilst I would consider loaning it locally I wouldn't post... :? sorry.

This is how you extract the shims after initially checking the clearances.

The 4 & 5 cylinder follower push down tools: from memory (it's been a while) the bent one is for the four cylinder models.

The shim removing pliers:

Four feeler gauges:

Inlet feeler sizes: 0.20 & 0.30mm

Exhaust feeler gauge sizes: 0.40 & 0.50mm

Basically the smaller of the two should go in, the bigger one shouldn't (done with a hot/warm engine and lobes pointing upwards) so you then know the gap is somewhere between the two (0.20mm to 0.30mm for inlets, 0.40mm to 0.50mm for the exhaust side)
Don't forget to buy a new cork gasket and end seals!
