Novice Embarking on a T25 restoration requiring help

Hello

I am having my midlife and decided to buy a T25 to go camping in. I have always wanted one and found what i thought was a good one to work with. This turned out to be a nasty rusty van that wont be going anywhere for a while. So i am now left with 2 options .. restore or sell. So i have decided to restore.

i am struggling to do things and thought i would ask a few questions

1. I have a lot of welding that needs to be done. Does anyone know a welder near Brackley, Northamptonshire?
2. I am wanting to remove the spare wheel carrier and support arms from under the front but i am struggling. could anyone help me out here and tell me how silly i am and point me in the right direction? i need to do this as i need to remove the radiator.
3. Does anyone live close by that could come give me some advice?

Hi Dudley,

To remove the spare wheel carrier:

Drop it down and remove spare wheel,
at the rear of the carrier where it hinges, there are two small metal clips that need to be removed (one each side) on the ends of the carrier bars,
then the carrier bars can be knocked out and the carrier will fall to the floor (or on top of you, as in my case).

Welcome to the club!

Theres a place called Carls Cool Campers just outside Brackley in Croughton, I took my Doka to them a couple of months ago to see how much they were going to cost to get work done and they're not cheap but they really do seem to know what they are doing, they have a pretty nice setup in the back of some farm outhouses and do all reapairs and paint. This is not a personal reccomendation by any stretch but the guys there are straight talking and tell it how it is, which is good if a little shocking.

Definately worth having a look, good luck

Can you a post a piccie of the two clips when its off? Removed mine over a year ago and lost the clips plus have no memory what they looked like..
