Gear lever and shift rod issue

Post by fastygaz »

Hi all,
Before we start I'd like to say how good it was to see some of you guys at blue hills campsite in st Agnes a couple of weeks ago...we'd been there for the week in ours and it was lovely to see a load more turn up...hope you all had a good un!!
Anyway, my missus has just come back from work complaining that the gear lever was hitting the dash and it was difficult to get into gear. As soon as I tried to stick it into 1st the gear lever snapped off in my hand!!
I've ordered a new solid one, gear lever rebuild kit and top hat bushes from brickwerks, which will hopefully arrive very soon as we were planning to go away this weekend but was just wondering whether I should be changing any of the rod bushes while I'm in there?!
The lever has always been a little sloppy!!
Any advice gratefully received as always!!
Thanks
Gaz
