new tap wiring

ive got a new London comet tap to fit and it has one white wire and one white with a black trace anyone know which is 12v+ ?

It doesn't matter. One's "in", one's "out". With the tap switched on, they're connected. With the tap switched off, they're not.

thanks Adrian , when I wired the original tap up I thought I had wired it wrong and blown the microswitch , now I'm thinking maybe it was broken when I got it
