You'll probably need to bleed the fuel system.
A really strong battery can wind the engine over enough to bring the fuel up to the injection pump but it has to be a good battery.
My brother puts a bit of clean pipe on the fuel line and sucks the fuel up (he takes in quite a bit of washing as well).

I have bled the injectors there i fuel coming out of them I have now got it to run after a lot of cranking and foot to the floor but it runs very very lumpy then cuts out I have black smoke coming out of the exhaust I used to get white before this it was running before I replaced the flame traps although it wouldn't rev as 3 out of the 4 injectors were leaking

Fitting one of these inline to my pump has helped no end when it comes to bleeding after doing anything on the fuel system..

Saves using the battery and starter to bleed as well..
