Convert na diesel to td diesel Turbo questions

Post by paintedblack »

Hi
I know these may sound like silly questions, but have recently mounted a new (new to the camper) jx td 1.6 engine to my camper<it was literally given to me in pieces in a box but joy of joys i have had the engine running sans turbo so pressing on and mounting the turbo to hopefully finish the job,Could anyone tell me whether the join between the exhaust manifold and the turbo has a gasket as i cant seem to find anyone selling one anywhere, and also i seem to have a bracket that looks like it fits nicely on the back of the turbo but i cant see where it would attach to the van body it just seem to stick happily up in the air if i mount it towards the engine it fouls the turbo oil pipes am i missing another bracket? the camper was originally a 1.6 na diesel,if anyone had a picture of their turbo mounting arrange i would be very grateful to be able to look at them.
many thanks
ben

ok going to answer my own question no the turbo doesnt have a gasket and still haven't got a clue where the brace goes. Have new problems now i can get the engine to fire and idle occasionally after much bleeding but cannot get it to rev properly starting to wonder if there is a different wiring loom for a turbo diesel as oppose to the original one used for normally aspirated engine?
