Can you recommend the right sealant to use around the base of my high top where it joins the edge of the bodywork inside the gutter rail.
To cut a ling story short I had the high top taken off and rotten metal along the interior cut out and new welded in. So far so good, unfortunately then the garage in their wisdom filled all the gutter rails with thick solid sealant. By the time we had finished arguing about the fact they had done this despite me speciffically asking them not to I needed my van back. They had removed it from the nearside but my offside gutter rail is still full of it. I intend to cut it all out, but would like some advice on what type of sealant to run down the outside to keep it waterproof after that.
Many thanks, Helen.

Re: Best sealant for my high-top
Ideally you should do it from inside - which should have been done when they put it back on. Unless you are meaning something else (run down the outside?). The top is usually held on with polyurethane adhesive sealant all round which should have waterproofed it. Not exactly sure as to what you are trying to waterproof! Pics would help.
