immobiliser gti t25 camper

Post by red1968 »

Hi to one and all from sunny surrey.
I purchased my first T25 camper in January  mid life crisest at 30! It had a 1900 wb. now has a 2L mk3 golf gti engine Agg all working for 2 seconds then cuts out. Arfter a bit of recearch realised the golf was fitted with an immobiliser i still had the car on the drive i have removed ignition ring, black box and key but no idea were the wires connect to. Im using the complete fuse board so the engine loom is seperate to the camper. There are four wires from imobbiliser box
1) black. live
2) brown. Earth
3) grey with white trace???
4) grey???

I have today taken the loom to a VW Auto electrition every thing is working as it should but we could not find any information or diagrams on immobiliser he said it could be related to clocks i am not using !. I am now stuck if any one could help would be most appreciated :ok

Assuming you're using the immo box that was originally in the Golf, it should be p/n 1H0 953 257 B. It has two connectors, one 3-pin one for the reader coil, and a 6-pin one. The pinout on the 6-pin one is:

T6/1 Ignition (Black)
T6/2 W-line to ECU pin T68/43 (Grey/White)
T6/3 K-line aka. diag to ODB port pin T16/7(Grey)
T6/4 Earth (Brown)
T6/5 no contact
T6/6 Earth (Brown)

There seems to be some variability on the wire colours on the W and K lines, its possible yours is different, but the pin number is correct. BTW, the immo is known as a 'J362' box.

PS. I don't rate that 'VW Auto Electrician' if he couldn't find this info !!!

PPS. You really don't need to use the whole relay plate for just the AGG. I can tidy it all up to a nice neat harness if you want, send me a PM..

You're welcome ! Re. speed sender, what are you looking to do, run cruise control ? RJES do a speed sender that fits to the back of the T3 speedo, its basically a replica of the original T3 sender which has been NLA for many years.
