Coolant
Firstly I'd Like to thank everyone at the 80 90 club.
Been following the wiki and technical forum and now my van is running like at dream.
My question is this, at the moment my cooling system is filled with blue anti freeze I think 30% mix.
Is this any good or should I flush it out and fill with something else.
Thanks.

Re: Coolant
I think the "general" mixture is about 50/50...
E D I T: You can get the tester sticks from most motor shops to see how good your mixture is they're only a couple of quid. Could save you a lot of money/work
Here's an example... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255224
Note there's different types of testers

Re: Coolant
Thanks for the replies guys.
Its a trip out this morrning to get more anti freeze then.
Mmmm now if I've got 18 litres at 30% how much to remove to make up to 50%.

Re: Coolant
That's going to be hard to work out lol
20% of antifreeze is 3.2 litres... but you'd be pouring out some diluted antifreeze to put that in lol

Re: Coolant
if you don't know the age of the coolant bin it, carefully mind as kids, cats and dogs etc love the sweet poisonous taste.

It's surprising how many people you see just un-doing a pipe and letting it drip all over the ground!

If you get the pink/red from Euro Car Parts, its fairly cheap by the gallon.
