Electric Windows

Post by georgeIRL »

What are the options for electric windows in a van.

I know the easy option would be find a scapped van with them and take all the stuff from that but I don't see them coming up that often, especially over here.

Is there a aftermarket or univeral kit that anyone could recommend or a set-up from another car/van

Thanks

George

Hiya George.
its a problem a few people have been asking about for ages incuding myself, one of the problems is that most of the T25's here were not high speck models and dident come with them, origoinal full kits inc wiring etc come up on german Ebay quite often and go for a couple of hunderd Euros.
As for something similar I find it hard to believe that the regulators and motors are individual to the T25 and not from the VAG parts bin of other vehicles that age.
That said im currently (next week or so) converting a set of electric window regulators from a Jeep Grand Cherokee which seem like they will fit and using the switches and wiring from an Audi Coupe, they had a neat armrest with 2 electric window switches and one for the mirrors and will (hopefully) look the part.

Ill let you know how i get on.

Cheers

Simon,

there is also a universal set i found on ebay for about 70 pound which i think i'm going to have a go at fitting

must go for a walk around a scrap yard though, the switchs on the arm rest will be a nice touch!

Keep me posted
