Carpet lining the interior

Hi All,

I'm planning on lining the inside of my van with grey carpet. Can anyone point me in the direction of useful information for this please? Thinking of guides (how to), suppliers, tips and tricks etc..

Megavanmats.

They do bulk deals on carpet and adhesive. Comes with a guide. It's fairly easy - I did bits of mine on my own but it's easier with 2.

Oh, and it you can get your hands on right angled fabric scissors, do. Makes cutting into corners so much easier.

Again it's possible on your own would be easier with a helper.
Did mine on my own and very happy with the results, there's a couple of areas I could have got better I'll remember for next time.
Also did my sliding door cards and rear sides in the super stretchy stuff.

Is it a good idea to leave old carpet on when re covering (extra insulation), if the lining is going straight onto an uninsulated fibreglass roof?

Yeah, use the old carpet as a template.

When I did mine, I bubble/foil insulated the roof and carpeted straight onto that. No probs so far.

Definitely buy more spray adhesive than you think you need, high temperature adhesive is essential otherwise it may peel off, stretchy carpet is much easier and yes follow the old carpet as a template

+1 for this, for roof areas I use this: http://www.as-trim.co.uk/index.php?main ... h=1_14_168" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; expensive but it really is a pain when your roof lining starts drooping

As everyone has said, Mega van mats! i used mega stretch its easy to use and can go into awkward shapes and contours, I used their aerosol adhesive for roof stuff and cheaper stuff in ply trims etc.
