Utter shoite!
Ok so the AAZ is now ready to go in. The diff lock took a bit of time to free off but its all ready now to go back in. I pulled out all the drive shafts and refitted the original boots and two new outer fronts so thats all done and ready to go back in. Whilst I was in that deep I noticed that the steering rack bellows were perfect - but I kept going to see what else had failed in the almost three years and 15,000 kms. Thankfully I found little else but while I was in that far I decided to service the shocks. I pulled them off and stripped them down and did a thing that Aidan and Neil would approve of - I changed the oil! I had some OEM seals and filters and I cleaned everything off and replenished with a Hypoid 60 (which isnt far off from that used in a Morris Minor) that I had for the job. I also turned the top bump swash valve around to increase the bump resistance which will be interesting. I did that before on another car I had some years ago and it worked.
Ill fit everything back onto the van when I get home the week after next which should be fun. At least the rear shafts wont be in the way!
