My dipstick is too short (ooeer!). I suspected it was when I got my T25 with a 1.6 diesel CS engine, but didn't do an oil change on the CS in the short time I had it, so couldn't confirm it. Now running a 1Y with the CS sump and dipstick/tube - with 4.5 litres of oil and new oil filter, the oil just appears on the bottom 1-2mm of the dipstick. I can live with it but it's going to be a pain..
Is there a part no. for an original 1.6 diesel dipstick, or would tracking one down be like finding hens teeth?

One you have is likely correct for 1.6 cs.
1.9 block is a bit deeper so the cs dipstick no longer shows correct level.
Have not got round to sorting mine yet but can you adjust how far it goes into sump by shortening the tube?
Or by securely adding an extension onto the end of the stick?

Yeah, as I said I can live with bit, but the problem is that on a road trip, when the dipstick tube is a bit messy because it hasn't been standing, it can be difficult to tell if the oil on the end is the actual level or just oil it picked up on the way through the tube, just a slight annoyance..
