Identy of my van.

Post by Woodyyellow »

Hello knowledgeable ones.

I am trying to identify the conversion of my van. It is a 1987 Hi top 1.9dg WBX RHD. The previous owner did not know who had converted it, but I am confident someone out there will be able to put me straight!
So this is my van,

My original identification led me to believe it is a EMC conversion, the reason for this came from http://www.camperinterior.webfotos.co.u ... -_emc.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .

I hope you can see my reasoning for this.

However I am now beginning to think after looking at some van images on this forum that it might be a Reimo conversion.
These images were taken a while ago and I have been busy with a few changes, wing mirrors etc!

Can any one out there help me please?

Thanks very much
John :)

don't know much about this but lots of second hand interiors for sale means it could be a stock panel that somebody stuck a Reimo interior in?

No water fill point suggests to me it may not have originally been a camper

Hi,There are two converters that are very similar, both reimo copies.Emc and beckham.Tho that dosnt mean that they converted it as someone may have bought a second hand interior.Obv the vent isnt the correct one,but there is only one,im prety sure both convertors fitted two vents.Tho the lower (fridge panel)may have been replaced.Emc roofs also have there name printed in the roof.Emc nearly always fitted large zig panels. So my educated guess is its a beckham conversion, proberly put in by someone else.

Hi Adam.
Thanks for your information about the van. I have not been able to find any name plates, stickers or information regarding the conversion. It does not have the EMC lettering on the roof, it is all smooth.

Right,my moneys on a emc interior fitted by a prev owner, with a random roof (tho it looks like a emc roof),emc would/did sell kits for people to fit themselves.Glad to be of help.Adam :ok

That looks exactly like the one I have. I think it is a Reimo Aeroline roof. Definitely a Riemo interior. My bed is diferent to that, we have more headroom above the bed because it lays down onto the engine cover carpet without a storage space under the rearmost cushion of it.

I am with EMC.
I have the same interior in my van, although I did put it in myself.
There are no plates or id anywhere.
Reimo have cupboard doors have a type of stable door look to them and a zig to the right of the kitchen.

That interior is nearly as identical to mine. I thought mine was emc too but swayed to reimo. As far as I know mine was converted in the 90's by a company up Yorkshire way
check my link at bottom for my pics.

As I know Reimo never made LHD furniture, so it must be a copy of that. The roof is from polyroof if not have the Reimo badge fofrmed in the shell.

Looks quite similar to mine. Done by a company called CanterBerry Campers. Googling doesn't bring up much for them...

Reimo made loads of LHD furniture in the 'Jolly' format like these. They are still available in kit form thought you have to try and work with the supplier to get hold of them.
