Overheating radiator bleeding

Fitted new engine Laurie pettit so good quality but overheats aftera short journey when drining in urban area, at speed on a roads its OK. When van stops can hear a gurgling bubbling sound in the engine area.
Is this a radiator bleed requirement or something else i have missed.
Advice sort please.

i'm taking it you have a petrol engine?

sounding like a airlock or possibly rad blockage there Simon....... have a look on the WiKi......
