Adhesive for Skylight velcro sunshade

Post by trucker »

Hi, one of the velcro strips that holds the sunshade to the indside of the roof surrounding the skylight has come off, I have tried to glue it back on to the flocked roof covering with superglue but to no avail. Any recomendations for a good strong adhesive would be great :ok

I dont think that anything in the world will stick it back properly.

I used some aerospace grade glue from work....on aerospace grade velcro ( it does exist) ....and when you peel off the shade it still comes away from the flock roof. :lol:

Cheers for the reply
Thought that might be the case :roll: I was thinking of using evo stik but was a bit concerned that it might be a bit harsh on the roof.
If not perhaps this. http://theskylightguy.com/products-page ... aque-black" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i thin k what happens is the glue makes contact with a bit of flock and this is prone to come away from the mian body of fabric, you need to adhere to the base of the flocking, care full spelling here

Ok I'll have a little scrape to get rid of the surface flock and then have another go with superglue.
Cheers for the flocking replies guys :lol:
