Quick, simple question...

Post by tonydata »

... here we go... does feel a bit silly asking but just in case... and I am a newb after all...!

Can you use contact adhesive to stick thermowrap insulation in to the roof cavity? Or should I just tape it in there at the edges? I am going to line the roof with ply/hardboard too but am wondering if it sagging slightly (as it's not stuck with spray glue at the mo) is defeating the object of putting it in in the first place!

I'm also a bit concerned about the glue melting/causing it some grief or something!?

I've checked out loads of threads and I can't seem to find anyone actually saying "and here is the insulation glued in..." It's more of a "and here it is insulated"!

Doing the cab floor and engine area too so thinking it's prob best to stick it down in there...?

It's going in my 86 tin top by the way! :ok

Cheers

i would tape it personally, as i would have thought the glue might melt on a summers day. Also that silver foil bubble wrap stuff actually works better with a air gap. if you think it sags too much just cut it in smaller strips.
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you
