jx dip stick?

Post by axeman »

is there a difference between the jx 2wd and 4wd dip stick, i know that the wbx 2wd and 4wd dip sticks are different lengths to compensate for the engine being lower in a syncro and the guide tube being longer.

only asking as the engine is all up and running again. when i filled it up with 4 &1/2 liters of oil (i changed the filter as well) the oil level on the dip stick is only just registering, about 10mm below the lowest mark on the dip sick.

just wondering if i have a 2wd dipstick if such a thing exists.

thanks neil

Hi Neil, according to ETOS both 2wd and Syncro have the same dipstick part number. The filler tube however is different.

thanks andy,

i measured the oil level accurately when i was filling up the engine should i just remark the dip stick, or fill up until i reach the marked level,

how would the engine react to over filling with oil?

thanks neil

Assuming the tube is correctly seated in the block, and the stick is in the tube correctly, the vehicle is level, it should be reading right, so no need to bodge it. Can you double-check all is OK ?
