avo adjustable dampers

Post by DavidPallister »

Evening all

I've asked this over on BY and had no response so thought I'd ask here as well:

I've got -50 avo springs and adjustable dampers on my van, are the dampers shorter than the standard dampers or are they the same length?

And if they are shorter, how much by?

Thanks

Dave

Thats a difficult one to know unless you physically take them off and measure standard and AVO damper side by side (compressed and fully extended).
I'm certainly no expert but I was led to believe that anything 50mm or more needed shorter dampers and again...depending on dampers, the bump stops need trimming to stop bottoming out (I think this is using standard dampers upto -50mm).

If you have the make/model number of the dampers there should be a published spec sheet somewhere.
