16" lada niva tire

hi, i have normal- standard Aircooled t3 bus.

i would like make more "offroadly" t3 with new tires and rims. here, i can get for cheap tires for lada niva. tyers are 175-80-16.


want to hear your opinion about that.

The pattern certainly indicates good off road performance but are they rated high enough for a T3's weight? load rating of 97 or higher...if so they look very capable tyres for off road & snow.

What does it actually say on the side of the tyre..make/type/rating etc.

bet that causes a hell of a lot of noise tho!

Don't know what they're like off-road, but I had a Lada Niva nearly 20 years ago running on those tyres (at least they look the same) and the on-road noise and performance was not the best, quite easy to drift the rear end on tarmac if cornering hard. I would imagine with the greater weight, length and power (depending on your engine) that a T25 would find it even worse on those tyres.
I very quickly changed from the 16's to a set of Vitara 15's with a set of Bridgestone A/T's which transformed the on-road performance and were fine off-road too.
