Cutting a Devon fibreglass roof

Post by AllenTheHat »

Has anyone ever tried or considered cutting or changing the style of a Devon side elevating roof.

The reason I ask is because I am considering making my roof a three quarter length roof (taking off the front portion) and maybe even lowering the height of it slightly (as in taking of 10 or 20mm all the way round so it sits a little lower).

Now some may question why? Some may suggest I just buy a different roof? Obviously the cheaper option is doing it myself and why? Well because the part at the front it dead space for me. I considered putting a roof rack in replacement.

Any thoughts?

if your capable of doing it then go for it, you can buy what your after but ££££, bear in mind that if memory serves then when the devon side lift is down there isnt much room left asin the bed foams touch the roof so consider thias when you measure to chop
