Temperature Sensor plug?

Post by dominicporter »

HI All,

My temp guage has just stopped working and assuming I have correctly located the sensor it is because one of the wires is broken... Does this sound like the right thing on an AAZ: just forward of the glow plugs, sticking up and slightly to the right, there is a squarish socket with a plug which has a silver bar which you push in to release it. the top of this has a soft rubber cap with 2 thin wires coming out.

If this is the right connector, does anyone know where I can get a new plug to connect onto the temperature sensor? There are sensors etc on JK but I can't find the bit that goes onto it...

Thanks

PS I _think_ its the connector that goes on this: http://www.busschmiede.de/shop/T3-Tempe ... asserboxer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
PPS apologies for cross posting this form the other forum but I was advised that it was in the wrong place.

original T3 temp gauge is yellow/red wire, if you have a two pin plug other wire should be brown as that's the earth side required when going into a plastic housing
to check if it's the correct wire earth the yellow/red wire to chassis/earth contact and turn ignition on, gauge will go to max and led will flash
plug will be a junior timer type as used post T3, used on most of the 90s VW stuff, plenty in scrappies
