Speedo needle not returning properly

I seem to have acquired a small 'feature' with my speedometer.

Its registering fine, as I build speed, but when I slow down (often in a CT ) its taking it's time to return to the lower speed / zero. It's inconsistent in the way it returns, and can on occasion behave as it should.

Has anyone experienced this before? Not a lot coming up in the wiki about this.
