Starter motor woes

Post by Big Bear »

Can anybody tell me if there is any difference between starter motors for different 1.9 petrol engines. I'm having mega problems. I've changed the starter with one which looks identical and have checked all the earths etc. I've got good power going to it and it tries to turn bit either seems to stick or turns once with a very graunchy sound (if that's a word) and won't start.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you.

Aha, I had better check the part numbers in that case. Would the bush being jiggered make it stick do you know?

yes it does but it generally doesn't make that grinding noise.
I would rather think it was the wrong starter

My thoughts as well. I'll check the part numbers. Thank you for the help.
