Remove window winder

Can't get the drivers window winder retaining screw to budge. Head of screw now looking a bit frazzled due to overtrying. What chance it's a right hand thread?

WD40 and extreme grunting have not worked.

Extreme violence next option - or a beer - so here I am sat down. Damn simple things are the worst.

Extensive searching of forum & wiki reveals no answers - unless you know better, and I bet you do!

Having removed mine a couple of years back I don't recall their being opposite threaded


I do remember them being a right bugger though

Need a screwdriver with an exact fit and a healthy unmolested end on it

The nut unscrews normally, anti-clockwise. Recently removed mine to clean them up, then retighten.

Thanks for that. At least I know which way to hammer the thing now. Seems like the impact driver will have to be dug out. Lets hope it doesn't drive the mech through the skin.
