BG 44K fuel system cleaner?

Post by Pootle »

A chap I would normally regard as sane has recommended I try BG 44K for the Golf. I'm not a believer in snake oil but he's a level-headed and sceptical person like myself.

Has anyone else tried the stuff? Any good?

The fact they sell it as "Power Enhancer" says everything I need to know.

Yes, injectors do get clagged up. I had the set in my old 200k mile Saab reconditioned. To clean them and get them back to full flow took the firm an hour (two cycles) in an ultrasonic cleaner. Do you think that 325ml of jollop mixed with 60 litres of petrol (near 'nuff five parts per thousand, half a percent) will do the same as that?
