Headlight fault
I've had a quick look but can't find a link to this so I wonderded whether anyone has any idea as to what the fault might be.....The O/S headlamp was not working on dipped beam.....took a while to notice as their not great anyway...lol Anyway I changed the bulb today and the problem is still there. The N'S headlamp works fine as does the side lights and flasher. The blue dash main beam light has never worked. Any ideas as to what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Re: Headlight fault
You don't say what year your van is, but if I were you, I'd check the fuse box.
For an early van:
1 & 2 are the side lights and tail lights, LHS and RHS.
3 & 4 are the dip beams, again, LHS and RHS.
5 & 6 are the main beams, LHS and RHS. The main beam warning lamp is connected to fuse 5 too, it's clearly visible, you have one fat wire for the headlamp and one thin one for the warning light.
Obviously, this is no use whatsoever if you have a later van with the far more complex fusebox, hence why it's always a good idea to state the year and engine of your van when looking for help

Thanks for that. Sorry, it's an A reg 1984 1.9 petrol water cooled van. I would have thought if it was a fuse then both the dipped beams wouln't work but I'll check anyway. Thanks

As above, the different sides of the vehicle are on separate fuses, so that if there's a fault, you don't lose all your lights.
Most vehicles built in the last 30 years have a similar setup.
